The Web Soil Survey is a great tool provided by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS).

For anyone who works with producers (livestock, row crops, fruit, vegetables, nuts, timber), in conservation, or who needs access to soils data for select geographic locations, this tool can be invaluable.  While there is no training program, anyone with interest should download this 112 page PDF Presentation from NRCS which gives a good overview of the application.  For more detailed assistance you may locate an NRCS Service Center near you and ask for assistance there.  Most Technical Service Providers (TSPs) registered with NRCS will need to become familiar with this tool.
